How to use
- Paste or type JSON into the input box. It is validated as you type.
- Choose an indent (2 spaces, 4 spaces or tab) and click Format — or click Minify to strip all whitespace.
- Enable "Sort keys" to order object keys alphabetically, which makes diffs easier to read.
- If the JSON is invalid, the error message shows the exact line and column so you can fix it quickly.
FAQ
Is my JSON sent to a server?
No. Parsing and formatting use the browser’s built-in JSON engine. Nothing is uploaded, so it is safe for API responses containing tokens or personal data.
Why does my JSON fail with “Unexpected token”?
Common causes are trailing commas, single-quoted strings, unquoted keys and comments. Strict JSON allows none of these — remove them and try again.
How large a file can it handle?
Several megabytes are fine on most machines. Because everything runs locally, the limit is your device’s memory rather than an upload cap.
