How to use
- Type or paste text — all hashes update as you type.
- Or choose a file to compute its checksum, for example to verify a download.
- Switch between lowercase and uppercase hex output and copy any hash with one click.
FAQ
Can a hash be reversed?
No. Hash functions are one-way. However, short or common inputs can be found with lookup tables, so never store plain hashes of passwords — use bcrypt, scrypt or Argon2.
Is MD5 still safe?
MD5 and SHA-1 are broken for security purposes (collisions can be produced). They are fine for non-security checksums; use SHA-256 or better for anything security-related.
