4xx Client error
408 Request Timeout
The server timed out waiting for the client to finish sending the request.
The connection was idle too long, often because of a slow network or a client that opened a connection without using it.
Common causes and fixes
- Retry on a better connection; large uploads may need chunked or resumable upload.
- Not the same as 504: a 408 means the client was slow, a 504 means an upstream server was slow.
Example response
